Gray-haired Seniors with serenity and joy

At eight-thirty one evening, my husband came into the house without taking off his shoes, hurried to wash his hands and had dinner. Like a child, he ate dinner and watched TV at the same time so he walked around between the dining room and the living room. Both of us smelled something weird. My husband blamed me how we got this odd smell in house? I was puzzled as I took out the trash and leftovers at 8:00pm. Where did the smell come from? While I was wondering..., it just occurred to me it might be the shoes. I turned on all the lights and asked my husband to take off his shoes and realized he had stepped on dog shit! The culprit is found and the picture isn’t pretty.

I hurried to take out the water pipe, mop, and cleaning agents to clean the house completely. The house was cleaned inside out after long hours of work. When I looked at the house in a clean and organized condition and the souring odor fading away, I felt very happy. I didn’t blame my husband. I understand that I wasn’t such a good-tempered by nature. Before practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong, I would have done the scrubbing and cursed at the same time. That would have made the situation worse. Now I learned from Shifu the kung fu of positive thinking. Always look at the bright side and the result will be different.

My husband and I are septuagenarians. The scorecard of my annual physical examination shows no sign of weakness. This is how I have benefited from practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong. I also learn how to stay healthier and younger. On the night of Double Ninth Festival or Older People's Day, a group of gray-haired brothers and sisters sang and danced together. Our agile performances won big applause from the audience. And we felt so proud and so happy. Imagine that the ages of all the performers add up to 1,000 years.

After my husband and I retired from work, we practice qigong at night, and visit the academy during the day time. With the group of gray-haired brothers and sisters practicing qigong, talking heart to heart, singing, and making lunch, I had a satisfied life in retirement. Because my whole family practices qigong at Tai Ji Men, we have common topics to talk. Our sons and daughters can go to work without worrying about our physical and mental health. I am very grateful and thankful for being able to own the happiness, joy and good health.
