The Grandpa Flying Down off a Tree

One day in last April, my grandson’s toy helicopter was stuck on a tree. So I climbed up to reach the toy for him without a second thought. But, accidentally, I fell down from the tree and passed out. I was sent to the emergency room, and the doctor diagnosed that my cervical vertebra, pelvic bones and hipbones were torn and split. He told me it was surprising that I didn’t need a ventilator because most people in my condition would need one. At the moment, I thought it was because I started practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong since three years ago. I have strong and healthy body to withstand the injury and prevent it from getting worse.
During the two weeks in the hospital, although I lay on the bed all the time, I still maintain high spirits and believed strongly that I will recover soon. So, I was totally relaxed and took good rests. As a result, I did get well soon. After leaving the hospital, I was still relaxed and in good mood. I followed the doctor’s instructions on medicine and rehabilitation. One month later, I could sit on a chair.
At that time, I went to Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy with a crutch almost every day. The brothers and sisters expressed their concerns and caring for me and we talked happily with my daily progress. One month later, I could walk without a crutch and was able to stand straight to practice qigong. Every time I went back to hospital to visit the doctor for checkup, the doctor was always surprised at the remarkable progress I made.
I owe all this to my Shifu, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men. Not only does Shifu teach us qigong to stay healthy, but also the wisdom to anchor our hearts in the face of difficulties in life. We will know how best to handle the challenges once we gain wisdom. That’s why I can recover so quickly and now I can travel with my beloved grandsons to wherever we want.
