Creating a Rich Life

I’m working in the R&D department at a high-tech institution, which is very stressful. On holidays, I used to invite my friends to have contests of table tennis to relieve the pressure from work; however, my knees were hurt, too. Plus, two ribs and a tendon of my left arm were broken in two major car accidents. Although the doctor had fixed my broken bones, I was bothered badly when the weather changed. Since then, I had pain in my back, loin, and knees, especially when the wind blew on my knees or when I stayed in an air-conditioned room. As long as the weather changed, my knees hurt. I couldn’t lift heavy stuff with my left hand, but also couldn’t sit or stand for too long.

Before Highway No.3 was built and open to vehicular traffic, the cars were bumper to bumper on the road on my way back to hometown every national holiday, which forced me to face a delay of three-to-five hour and the pain in my knees and lower back by driving a car with manual transmission. In the beginning, I was reluctant to buy a new car since I had it for only five years and it was still functioning well. One day, it was stolen and has not be found until now. I then still bought a new car with manual transmission because I has joined Tai Ji Men to practice qigong and all my physical pain disappear miraculously.

My restored health allows me to practice cultural performances and dragon dance and travel with Shifu to promote Chinese culture and introduce the idea of love and peace to the world. In stead of complaining my boring work and punishing my naughty kids, I now make the best use of life to benefit myself and others; that is one of the happiest and meaningful things in my life.

I used to be a strict father who would give his kids corporal punishment. After I joined Tai Ji Men for a while, Shifu never stops teaching many things, one of which is that qigong practitioners should stay calm and peaceful and should not spank or scold their kids. I follow his teachings and no longer beat my two sons, who are also Tai Ji Men dizi. I told them that they have to be thankful for Shifu because he helps me learn to change my bad temper not to beat or scold them. By practicing Tai Ji Men qigong, my two kids then have happy childhoods and healthy body and mind.

I am grateful to Shifu for blessling me with a sweet family and a healthy body to follow him to introduce Chinese culture and the idea of love and peace around the globe, which has made my life rich, varied and meanful.
