Every job has its own profession, so is difficulty. Working in the hospital as a nurse, I am responsible of taking care of the sick ones. There is an old saying in Chines goes, "One kind of rice raises a hundred kinds of people." The old saying just reflects my daily life in hospital. Every day I have to face all kinds of patients and their family members, and it is a very big challenge for me because I am bad-tempered and impatient.

Since young, I have been an outgoing person and considerate to others. Yet I was impatient and got angry easily. When people repeated the same sentence to me more than twice, I would become angry. When I was angry, I would say something bad to hurt others and I even did not notice it. One day, I was extremely busy and one patient asked me for help. I was out of patience and treated him in an unfriendly way. The patient told me, "Miss, it looks like you are busy because you are so impatient." After hearing his words, I felt so ashamed and then apologized to him.

In my opinion, people’s temper is deeply ingrained and difficult to change. I couldn’t control my temper when I become busy in my job. Till my colleague recommended me to join Tai Ji Men, it opened the door to change my life.

In the entry ceremony, Shifu told me I must learn how to speak and communicate well. At that time, I had one question in my mind, "I am good at talking. Why should I learn how to speak?" After entered Tai Ji Men, I listened to the guidance of Shifu and the sharing of brothers and sisters. From time to time, I realized that I was only good at chatting. Yet, the most important thing is how to communicate peacefully when you meet conflicts. To speak good words and do right things, we will not offend others easily, we will thus become more welcomed. After I entered in Tai Ji Men for 4 months, I moved to a new hospital, which is near my house. Before my night shift, I will always go to Tai Ji Men to practice qigong and talk with brothers and sisters. It will make me feel peaceful and full of energy to face my job later at nights.

There was a 93-year-old patient came to hospital because his rib was broken. Due to his background in Japanese education, he is serious and seldom speaks a word. His family was the same, barely talked and interacted with the nursing staffs. I started to look after him on his third day in hospital. At the beginning, I would look after him with love and caring, and also tried to cheer him up by holding his hands with my hands. At the next day, he looked at my name tag "0105" and said to me "you are No.15!" After that, he would asked me, "Are you No.15?" when he saw me every day.

From that day on, I became nurse No. 15. Everyday he was looking forward to my show- up. When I am on duty, his poker face will turn into smiley face. His family saw that I show love and care to the patient, our interaction became much better. Sometimes, the grandpa patient would refuse to take the medicine. I would be the only one he appointed to feed him the medicine. When the doctor visited him, he always praised that I am the best one who look after him. Because of his praise, I became a famous nurse in hospital. Besides, one patient said I am like sunshine and bring happiness to him when I stepped into the patient room. The patient who went through a surgery felt much better after my caring. Some patients like me so much, even wish me become their daughter-in-law.

Shifu said that a job can help you make money and also help you to learn. Why not just do it happily? Sometimes, I would feel upset and complain the job is too busy to handle well. Yet when I want to complain, Shifu’s words would always remind me to start to reflect upon myself and try to think in a different way; but not just to complain about this and that. I can learn something from these moments in other ways. Being positive can always make me happy. That’s why people feel that I bring happiness to them, just like sunshine. It is the best decision to join Tai Ji Men in my life. After joining Tai Ji Men, I became popular around my job and the job is going smoothly. I thank Shifu for giving me this opportunity to change my life.
