Pasadena, CA, February 12, 2024 - The Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in Pasadena will host its Lunar New Year celebration on February 18th from 2:00-4:00 pm at its academy located at 570 E. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91104. The event serves to consolidate the kind hearts and positive thoughts of people from diverse backgrounds, coming together to offer collective prayers for the world, contributing a robust stabilizing influence to 2024, enhancing the safety and security of their communities and beyond.
Distinguished Guests and Inspirational Speeches
Esteemed guests, including Kathryn Barger, Los Angeles County Supervisor; George Herrera, representative of Fiona Ma, California State Treasurer; Tyron Hampton, Pasadena City Councilmember; Jennifer Lee, vice president of Pasadena School District Board, and more, will attend the event. Kathryn Barger is expected to deliver a keynote speech, and George Herrera will present a certificate of recognition to Tai Ji Men on behalf of Treasurer Ma. The dignitaries will lead all attendees in a minute of silence to pray for global well-being.

In honor of the Year of the Dragon, Tai Ji Men will present its Celestial Dragon, Auspicious Lions, and Heavenly Official, bestowing abundant joy and blessings upon guests. Tai Ji Men’s cultural performances, including the dragon formation, exemplify the positive energy, values, and virtues that its members have learned through qigong practice, fostering unity and cooperation. Tai Ji Men will present a majestic drum performance and a graceful silk umbrella dance, spreading goodwill and positive energy worldwide. Tai Ji Men welcomes members from diverse ethnicities, professions, and age groups, including 87-year-old former Motown songwriter and record producer William "Mickey" Stevenson and his wife Michelle. Mickey and Michelle shared that practicing Tai Ji Men Qigong has helped them become younger and more energetic, as well as obtain many other benefits, including better sleep, better skin, a more harmonious relationship as a couple, and the attainment of inner peace and joy.
