Silicon Valley Endorses the Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience
Happy Kids Day was held on August 23 in the memorial park in the city of Cupertino, the annual summertime event showcases a variety of cultural activities, including music, dance, games, food and singing contests. The 2014 Happy Kids Day theme is "A World in New Light," which invites the public to see and experience different cultures. This year’s event is expanded to accommodate more visitors, the Taiwanese Volunteer Group, the event organizer, especially invites the global "Era of Conscience Movement." Families from various ethnical backgrounds in Silicon Valley brought their children to this wonderful event. Lots of them endorsed the "Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience" for the next generation to live in a love and peace world with sustainable future.

"Era of Conscience Movement" has presented a passionate program filled with happiness and energy. The youth and young adults presented the Celestial Horse Dance with rich Chinese cultural heritages. The orchestra of An Era of Conscience, composed of peoples from different walks of life, urged everyone to join and create an era of conscience. Mrs. Shirley Cheng, President of Taiwanese Volunteer Group, Mr. Bruce Fuh, Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Mr. Orrin Mahoney, Cupertino Councilmember and Former Cupertino City Mayor, Mrs. Van T. Le, Vice President of East Side Union High School District Board of Trustees, and Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men, participated in the ceremony of launching the global endorsement of the Declaration. At the end of the ceremony, the lively and energetic dance of Power of Love was performed to encourage people to get rid of worries and wait for no time to love, to speak good words and to take actions of consciences.
Van Le, Vice Chairman of District Board of Trustees of East Side Union High School, expressed that it is important to educate the youth the traditional cultures. And to leave a better living environment for the next generation, we should emphasize environmental protection and green energies. Orrin Mahoney, Council member and former mayor of Cupertino spoke highly of the Tai Ji Men philosophy. “It is wonderful to take good care of ourselves while at the same time doing good to the world. We see wonderful mixes here in Cupertino. But this is not case everywhere in the world. Look at what happened to the Middle East and within the US. There are conflicts among and between peoples. We should try our best to understand and appreciate the differences of cultures, get rid of obstacles to reconciliations and work out solutions to sustainable future.
Other participating guests include diplomatic envoys from Ukraine, Mexico and Peru, who also recognized the importance and benefits of An Era of Conscience. The movement has received widespread supports from people with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. They have shared their words of conscience irrespective of their skin colors and nationalities, hoping to make the world a better place and pledged to take actions. Many of them signed on the internet and endorse the Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience. In a matter of hours, hundreds of participants have already signed the Declaration.
