Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy Has Fostered Love and Peace Around the World for Six Decades

Former Heads of State and a Leader of a Nobel Peace Prize–Winning Humanitarian Organization Gather in Taipei to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy

The event brought together distinguished guests from more than 30 countries, including two former heads of state, a co-leader of a Nobel Peace Prize-winning organization, a member of a European royal family, leaders of international organizations, and diplomatic representatives stationed in Taiwan. Joining them was an extraordinary assembly of leaders, including senior government officials, the Mayor of Taipei, legislators, scholars, experts, and business leaders from across Taiwan. Together, they witnessed this remarkable celebration of peace that transcended cultures and national borders, participated in the Bell of World Peace and Love Ringing Ceremony, and offered their wishes for a peaceful and sustainable future for humanity.

The celebration featured both morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session opened with the official 60th Anniversary Opening Ceremony. Welcomed with the warmth and solemnity of the ancient menpai (school), 60 distinguished guests from Taiwan and around the world entered the venue in a grand ceremonial procession. Accompanied by the powerful and resounding performance of the Tai Ji Men Celestial Drums, they participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially launched the anniversary celebrations.

Former Minister of the Interior of Taiwan and current Secretary-General of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Hsu Kuo-yung, presented Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the Zhang-men-ren (Grandmaster) of Tai Ji Men, with a commemorative vase inscribed with the words "Transforming the World Through Goodness" on behalf of President Lai Ching-te. During the opening ceremony, Hsu joined Dr. Hong in unfolding ceremonial fans, symbolizing the circulation of goodness, and extended his best wishes for the continued growth and sustainable development of the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy as it celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The afternoon featured the anniversary celebration and the Highlight Ceremony, bringing together honored guests from more than 30 countries, over 3,000 participants from Taiwan and abroad, and members of Tai Ji Men academies around the world who joined the event via live broadcast. Together, they celebrated this milestone and ushered in a new chapter in the Academy's next sixty years.


Spreading Love Across 123 Countries Worldwide
Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze Receives the Humanity and Peace Laureate Award

The event marked a historic milestone as the first international peace gathering of its kind in Taiwan's history, bringing together prominent peace leaders from around the world. In his keynote address, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the Zhang-men-ren (Grandmaster) of Tai Ji Men, remarked:

"Whether humanity can achieve a sustainable and prosperous future depends upon conscience. The awakening of conscience is the paramount shared task of all humankind. Guided by the great aspiration—our only wish is for all people to live in peace; our every thought is devoted to peace for the world—my dizi and I join hands with like-minded partners around the globe. Together, through conscience and acts of kindness, we kindle the light of hope to warm and illuminate hearts around the world, striving for peace and happiness for all humanity as we move toward the next glorious sixty years!"

During the event's Highlight Ceremony, Dr. Hong led distinguished guests in illuminating "Peace 60," symbolizing a shared commitment to join hands with people around the world in ushering in the next sixty years of peace, hope, and prosperity.

Since its founding in 1966, the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy has upheld the ideals of love, conscience, and peace. Through self-funded goodwill journeys to 123 countries, Dr. Hong and his dizi (apprentices) have promoted people-to-people diplomacy through cultural exchange, collaborated with major international organizations, and advanced significant global initiatives, achieving remarkable accomplishments.

Two former national leaders who have worked alongside Dr. Hong for many years to foster peace around the world traveled to Taiwan to offer their congratulations and deliver keynote addresses.
Former Prime Minister of Lesotho Pakalitha B. Mosisili presented the Global Conscience and Peace Leadership Award to Dr. Hong and remarked in his opening address that six decades of unwavering dedication represent an extraordinary achievement. He said that this remarkable milestone reflects remarkable discipline, steadfast commitment, and a clear sense of mission. It also demonstrates Tai Ji Men's ability to pass its core values from generation to generation while building bridges across cultures, backgrounds, and national boundaries.

Former President of Ecuador Rosalía Arteaga Serrano expressed her deep admiration for Dr. Hong and Tai Ji Men's longstanding commitment to spreading the ideals of love and peace throughout the world. She praised their ongoing dialogue with heads of state, opinion leaders, young people, and children, sharing wisdom, philosophical insights, and constructive approaches to addressing the challenges facing humanity.

The ceremony also featured a special presentation by Jerry White, co-leader of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, which was awarded the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. He presented Dr. Hong with the Humanity and Peace Laureate Award, making Dr. Hong the first peace leader in Taiwan to receive this distinguished honor.


European Royalty and International Diplomats Join the Celebration
Distinguished Guests from More Than 30 Countries Mark an Unprecedented Gathering

The celebration brought together an unprecedented assembly of distinguished guests from more than 30 countries. Among them was Archduke Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen of Austria, Vice President of the Vienna-based humanitarian nonprofit organization Flame of Peace, which presented Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze with the Flame of Peace Award in 2018. Representing the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, Archduke Sandor made a special trip to Taiwan to participate in the celebration.

Also in attendance were diplomatic representatives stationed in Taiwan, including Ambassador Darío Filártiga Ruiz Díaz of the Republic of Paraguay; Ambassador Lily Tangisia Faavae of Tuvalu; Ambassador Donya Lynex Francis of Saint Kitts and Nevis; Ambassador Katherine Vanessa Meighan of Belize; Ambassador Anjanette Kattil of the Republic of the Marshall Islands; Representative Tamara Vér of the Hungarian Trade Office; Acting Head Francisco Javier Martinez Rodriguez of the Mexican Trade Services Documentation and Cultural Office; Acting Trade Commissioner of the Nigeria Trade Office in Taipei Relicx Tsempet Shiolban; as well as representatives from the Philippines, Malaysia, Haiti, and Eswatini.

Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung presented a certificate of recognition, stating that Tai Ji Men has enabled Taiwan's cultural influence to reach across oceans, making Taiwan's diplomacy warmer, stronger, and more impactful.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an presented a certificate of appreciation, sharing that he had previously visited the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in the United States on multiple occasions. Having been warmly cared for by the Tai Ji Men shixiong and shijie (brothers and sisters), he felt as though he were a Tai Ji Men dizi himself. He expressed his wishes for Tai Ji Men, under the leadership of Zhang-men-ren Dr. Hong, to usher in another brilliant 60-year cycle. More than 3,000 guests—including international dignitaries from over 30 countries and representatives from various sectors in Taiwan—gathered to start a new chapter for the next six decades.


Holistic Education in Action: Creating Positive Impact Across All Walks of Life

Another highlight, "Dizi from All Walks of Life: The Energy Family," showcased Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze's lifelong commitment to holistic education. Nearly 100 Tai Ji Men dizi from 15 major industries—including healthcare, technology, education, architecture, transportation, business, and trade—took the stage alongside multi-generational families.

From healthcare professionals and semiconductor engineers to international AI innovators, they demonstrated how practicing a culture of conscience and qigong has transformed their lives. Their stories showed that putting the culture of conscience into practice and cultivating both the body and the heart through qigong not only foster personal growth but also strengthen families and contribute to a more stable and harmonious society.

Dr. Hong explained that holistic education is a form of lifelong learning for people of all ages—from birth through every stage of life. Beyond providing a comprehensive environment for healthy development, its true purpose is to nurture inner awareness and unlock each person's innate potential.

Among those featured were Chen Yi-cen, who is preparing to compete in the Nagoya Asian Games and previously broke a national athletics record while earning recognition as Taiwan's "strongest junior high school athlete"; Michelle Shen, whose team won first place in the High School division of the 2025 VEX Online Challenges for their game design submission; Yuan Rui-chen, who taught himself robotics and formed a team that won the 2022 Global Botball Robotics Competition; brothers Wu Bo-yi and Wu Bo-jun, known as the "robotics brothers"; as well as several gifted young musicians and other outstanding youth. They all shared that, under the guidance of their Shifu, Dr. Hong, they have learned to unlock their potential and develop remarkable mental resilience.


Ancient Eastern Martial Arts Inspire and Captivate the Audience
Acclaimed Golden Peacock Makes Its Taipei Debut

The celebration featured a spectacular presentation deeply rooted in ancient Eastern culture, seamlessly blending martial arts, dance, and music to captivate the audience.

Making its Taipei debut at the TICC, the acclaimed Golden Peacock—a signature performance celebrated across Europe and Asia—joined the Qilin and other mythical creatures in conveying blessings of peace and prosperity through uplifting and symbolic artistry. Drawing from the ancient qigong and martial arts heritage of Tai Ji Men, the performances of empty-hand forms, traditional weapons, fan routines, and staff formations embodied the highest ideal of martial arts: stopping conflict and promoting peace.

Equally breathtaking was "Dragon and Phoenix Ushering in Peace and Prosperity." Symbolizing rebirth, hope, and unity, this performance combined striking visual artistry with inspiring energy, delivering a universal message of peace and hope to the world.


60th Anniversary Special Exhibition
Celebrating Six Decades of Aspirations and Actions for Peace

A special exhibition at the TICC commemorated Tai Ji Men's 60-year journey of self-funded global outreach. It chronicled how Dr. Hong and his dizi have traveled across six continents, promoting a culture of love, conscience, and peace while seeking to resolve conflicts through wisdom and compassionate action.

The exhibition highlighted extraordinary milestones, including journeys to 123 countries and the global journey of the 240-kilogram Bell of World Peace and Love. To date, 692 influential leaders from 159 nations—including 89 heads of state and 15 Nobel Peace Prize laureates—have rung the Bell and offered heartfelt wishes for world peace.

Through historical photographs, archival videos, and personal stories, the exhibition showcased Tai Ji Men's rich cultural heritage and global peace initiatives. Open from August 1 to August 3, the exhibition guided visitors along a thoughtfully designed journey—from "Seeking the Light: Exploring Tai Ji Men" to "Aspiration in Action: Ringing the Bell of Peace Within the Heart"—inviting the public to experience and bear witness to this six-decade legacy.
